About us

St Augustine's is the parish church for Slade Green. We are a diverse community of people who strive to live out the Chrsitain faith in our daily lives. Children and familes are important to us. We gather for worship each Sunday and enage in other activities during the week. We are part of the Church of England and in the diocese of Rochester. We seek to be an inclusive church, providing a place of hospitality and a welcome to all ages.

The Church was built at the turn of the 20th Century.  It is a fine example of Victorian architecture.  After a major fire in the 1990’s, not only was part of the church restored, but one or two new facilities (such as the Office and toilets) were put in.  At the east end of the church, the chancel area was completely refurbished, creating a very open space suitable for a variety of worship styles.

Children and families are very weclome. At the back of church we have a play pen for the under four's. This has toys which help to keep your child happy! For older children some assist in the worship whlst others sit with parents and resources are availble to help them follow the service.

Furthermore, as part of our Christian discipleship, whenever possible we activly engage with the wider community.
