St Augustine’s Church was built at the turn of the 20th Century. It is a fine example of Victorian architecture. After a major fire in the 1990’s, not only was part of the church restored, but one or two new facilities (such as the Office and toilets) were put in. At the east end of the church, the chancel area was completely refurbished, creating a very open space suitable for a variety of worship styles.
As the Church of England parish church for Slade Green, we seek to be an open and inclusive church, providing a place of hospitality and welcome. Furthermore, as part of our Christian discipleship, we are looking for ways to engage with the wider community.
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.
